Interessante saggio a carattere antinapoleonico in un "ironica" contestazione della famosa opera del Conte di Segur sulla tragica campagna di Russia, stampato alla macchia col nome di un Generale d'armata. Traccia di gora marginale e sporadiche macchiette rugginose al primo volume, carta assai fresca e bella al secondo, legature ben conservate. Di notevole interesse e scarsa reperibilità.

Questo importante Trattato fu l'esito di un lavoro diplomatico cui presero parte l'abate Galiani e Antonio Maresca, duca di Serracapriola, primo ambasciatore di Napoli a San Pietroburgo. Arrivé à Dunkerque le 18 septembre 1901, le Tsar assista auprès du président de la République Emile Loubet aux importantes et diverses revues militaires (notamment à Compiègne). Très richement illustré, il propose de très nombreuses vues des différents navires russes de l'escadre ou français accueillant celle-ci, des photos des différents membres du gouvernement ou des manoeuvres militaires.
