Lewis. As an author and scholar he published works focused on theology and scriptural literacy most notably: Opening the New Testament: A Way to Read the Bible in Logical and Historical Order and Uppsala to Nairobi 1968-1975: Report of the Central Committee to the Fifth Assembly of the World Council of Churches. NOTE: It is most likely the 1708 New Testament edition given its proximity in date to the 1706 Book of Common Prayer it is bound with by the same publisher; however the 1720 edition cannot be ruled out without carbon dating or some advanced method as the two editions were nearly identical. ABOUT THEODORE BEZA Theodore Beza 1519 - 1605 was a French Calvinist Protestant theologian reformer and scholar who played an important role in the Protestant Reformation. He was a disciple of John Calvin and lived most of his life in Geneva. Beza succeeded Calvin as the spiritual leader of the Republic of Geneva. Between 1565 and 1604 he produced several editions in Greek with accompanying Latin translations and detailed annotations.
