In Dreamers of Dreams readers will find essays on the great pathfinders and innovators: Rimbaud Mallarme Rilke Verlaine Eliot Anna Akhmatova Paul Celan and yes Oscar Wilde. But there is also rich criticism of poets nearer to us: James Merrill Robert Graves Joseph Brodsky John Ashbery and Philip Larkin - not always in admiration. The book also includes Mr. Simon's thoughts on the best English poem about physical love on the translation of poetry and on some forgotten minor poets whose only sin was accessibility and who cry out for rediscovery" Jacket. unknown books
