Typed press caption affixed to verso International News Photos stamp manuscript editorial markings. Excellent. A press photograph documenting an early women's airborne emergency medical organization in Los Angeles. The image shows members of a women's flying medical unit gathered beside an airplane during first aid maneuvers on July 9 1934. The unit brought together women interested in aviation and emergency medicine and trained its members to provide rapid medical assistance in the event of disasters and other national emergencies.
