ref. a104034Collection 75 original photographs 47 mounted in an album and all views identified plus 29 more unmounted and unidentified photographs laid in. All photos are small most 1-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches. All photos are of Ladakh many of Leh and Kargil two major cities in this Himalayan kingdom. One photo has date of 1921 so we assume all were taken around that time or at least in the early 1920s. Many of the unmounted photos are a bit too small and too dark to show much detail. Some of the identifications are written in ink and are easy to read but many are written in pencil and have faded making them harder to read. The album is quite worn but still intact and only 7 pages of the album have photos mounted - most of the leaves of the album are empty. Quite unusual. . unknown
