réf. 4694Rare Photography Broadside for a Parisian photography studio operated by Allophones Lionel who was active in the 1860s according to Getty Images. Lionel advertises a guarantee that no photographer had offered: a proof - "epreuve" - of the image before the photograph is printed and if the client does not like the image the photographer will take a second photograph and offer a second proof for no additional charge. A caricature of the famed French photographer Nadar appears to sit on a camera in the broadside's highly decorative design. The sheet measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and is normally aged with slight chip in upper left corner else very good condition. Photographs of individuals in the carte-de-vi site style established in the 1850's became more popular in the 1860's with many photographers competing for clients.
