Good in lightly aged wraps. Some tissue guards. Two essays: 'La Societe des Ingenieurs Civils de France de 1848 a 1896' by M. A. Mallet and 'Le Nouvel Hotel de la Societe des Ingenieurs Civils de France' by M. F. Delmas 'Architecte de la Societe'. Delmas's comments on his design are revealing: 'Pour la facade je ne me suis pas preoccupe a proprement parler de lui donner un style determine: j'ai pense qu'un hotel d'ingenieurs devait avant tout etre reconnaissable par son caractere utilitaire; aussi ai-je cherche a accuser a l'exterieur les services interieurs.'
