Contains 351 gelatin silver black and white or sepia toned photographs measuring between 3.25" x 2.25" and 4" x 3.25" with some captions. Some pages detached from the spine but present good with near fine photographs with tidemarks. A family photo album from 1905 through to 1917 living in Detroit Michigan on Iroquois Avenue. The album shows the family and their two children growing up and traveling around to various places although very little is captioned in the album aside from a few names and locations. Various pictures of the family with their children Cherc and Carl Weir in and around their small but quaint home. The wife is wearing highly decorative hats with feathers flowers and ribbons which is a stark contrast to her white button downs and rather plain skirts seen in the album while at home. However her traveling outfits are much more lavish with large fur coats and stylish dresses as the years progress in the album. Her husband was a coal miner and can be seen in his mining gear with all his coworkers. The family is seen setting up tents for a camping trip and enjoying their time canoeing on a lake while camping and visiting waterfalls. The family traveled in their personal automobile pictured throughout the album to different places around Michigan including the Colonial Oliver Hazard Perry monument. A brief but charming family album from the mid-1900s to the mid-1910s in Detroit Michigan. unknown books
