In 1849 Johnston visited New Brunswick and traveled 2000 miles to study the agriculture of the Province and offer suggestions for improvement. In 1850 his "Report on the agricultural capabilities of the Province of New Brunswick. was published Fredericton 2 editions. A well received report that proved to be overly positive. New York.
