2021br. Può la scelta di sottoporsi a una indagine genetica salvarci la vita? In questo volume, scritto a più mani da medici e giornalisti, scopriremo lo stato attuale della ricerca e come molte donne che hanno provato questa strada siano riuscite a trarre beneficio grazie alla prevenzione e alle cure mediche ad essa associate. Il libro ha infatti l'intento di fare (in)formazione sull'efficacia e l'utilità del test genetico, finalizzato alla programmazione di un adeguato percorso di prevenzione e trattamento in caso di mutazione genetica che predispone all'insorgenza del tumore del seno e/o dell'ovaio. All'interno del volume sono presenti una sezione didascalica con interviste di esperti (genetista, chirurgo plastico, oncologo medico) che presentano il tema "test genetico" e una seconda sezione narrativa con storie di donne, di fasce di età e con vissuti di malattia differenti, in cui ciascuna lettrice può ritrovare anche la "propria" storia o quella di persone a lei vicine. Ogni racconto si conclude con un messaggio positivo che sottolinea come oggi grazie al progresso scientifico e alla prevenzione il tumore può essere vinto.
