Born in Wisconsin on January 1 1901 Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935 where he worked well into the 1950s. 8 x 10 inches. Then for two years he wandered capturing his road trip on film. He also participated in Zashen Maax's exploration expedition in Chiapas on the border of Guatemala. Though they didn't find the lost temple his encounter with the Lacandon people made a profound impact on him." The work is less travelogue and more street photography.
