Brunet. 1775 - 1783. 4 volumes in-8 (146 x 226 mm) plein veau porphyre à dos lisse finement orné, pièces de titre et de tomaison maroquin rouge, filet et double roulettes d'encadrement des plats, roulette intérieure et sur les coupes, tranches dorées, gardes jaspées. Complet des 46 figures hors texte avec encadrement, dessinées par Cochin, gravées par Delaunay, Lingée et Ponce et des 46 figures de la suite de Baskerville. Toutes estampes avant la lettre. Cochin indique que les planches des chants V et XII ont été redessinées avec grand soin par Moreau le Jeune. Papier très lgt bruni avec de rares piqûres éparses, cachet discret d'un précédent possesseur sur les pages de titre, petites étiquettes de bibliothèque privée et coupure de catalogue sur le 1er contreplat. Très bon état des belles reliures et des gravures.

Nouvelle impression du Roland Furieux en français, paru pour la première fois en 1615, traduit et augmenté dune suite par François de Rosset (1571-1619), et illustré dun titre-frontispice gravé par Léonard Gaultier de 15 grandes figures sur bois, reprises de lédition vénitienne de Valgrisi de 1556, et communément attribuées à Dosso Dossi. Reliure en veau blond. Dos à cinq nerfs avec pièce de titre en maroquin rouge, caissons encadrés de deux filets dorés et ornés dun fleuron central. Deux filets en encadrement des plats. Ex-libris: «Virtute Duce Comite Fortuna». Hans Caspar (1740-1792). Zurich. Conseiller dÉtat. Cet ex-libris a aussi été utilisé par son fils : Jean Caspar (1764-1820), militaire au service de la France. Ex-libris: «André Gutzwiller». Bibliophile et banquier bâlois. Ancienne étiquette de bibliothèque au dos. Traces dusage à la reliure.Quelques rousseurs. Bel exemplaire.
