Firenze: Il Magheri 1827. Marbled boards/Leather Spines. Very Good. 1827-8. 5 volumes in 3 books. Leather spines with pressed gilt titles marbleized paper-backed boards. Text in Italian. Wear to corners rubbing to cover edges and spine ends and edges remarkably clean text with only very occasional scattered foxing. Some light chipping to spine of Vol. I-II first book which has a bookplate at front pastedown. Original pink place-keeping ribbons present. The Decameron is a collection of medieval allegorical short stories written in the mid-14th century and is considered central to the Western canon influencing writers ranging from Geoffrey Chaucer to George Eliot. <br/><br/> Il Magheri hardcover
