A Paris chez Jean de Bonnot 1990. 3 forts vol. au format in-8 212 x 143 mm de 342 309 et 292 pp. Reliures d'édition de plein skyvertex cerise à l'imitation de maroquin plats ornés d'un filet d'encadrement doré ainsi que de portraits dorés sur fond noir dos lisses à l'identique en outre ornés d'un large décor fleuronné doré titre doré tomaison dorée têtes dorées. Ensemble complet de ses trois volumes. Un des exemplaires du ''Tirage à part''. Cette œuvre allégorique médiévale est célèbre pour ses récits de débauche amoureuse dont la gamme va de l'érotique au tragique. Le Décaméron fut rédigée en italien et non en latin comme il était courant de le faire à l'époque donnant ainsi naissance de la prose italienne qui marqua le genre de la nouvelle dès la Renaissance. La plupart des personnages qui parsèment le récit font peu de cas des valeurs morales de l'Église. Ce tableau ''sociologique'' dressé par Boccace constitue le reflet de la nouvelle société bourgeoise de l'époque dont les valeurs pratiques l'emportent sur l'ordre ancien chevaleresque et aristocratique. Empreint d'élégance et de courtoisie fondés sur la dignité le bon goût et le respect ces contes sont aussi l'occasion pour Boccace de tracer une esquisse d'un idéal de vie et traitent principalement du thème de l'amour aussi bien courtois que vulgaire.
