De Charles Dickens se han subrayado siempre su gran capacidad descriptiva y su maestria en la definici�n de personajes muy diversos para cuyo retrato le basta con unas pocas pinceladas. Tal virtud resulta bien patente en Canci�n de Navidad pero conviene no obstante hacer una matizaci�n. El ritmo de la narraci�n no permite en lo que a la mayor�a de los personajes concierne una observaci�n muy detallada; por lo que respecta a Scrooge sin embargo puede decirse que asistimos a la creaci�n de uno de los tipos literarios m�s acabados de toda la obra de Dickens.
