Charles Dickens & L Weedon, Illustrated by Arthur Dixon
Child Characters From Dickens
London: Ernest Nister Decorative Boards. No Jacket as Issued. This is a very scarce and near perfect book for collectors of Dickens obviously but it is also for collectors of fine illustrations especially for anyone who appreciates the unique beauty of multi coloured chromolithography. This is a clean and tight copy of a book that is too often assigned to the 'breakers'. Each illustration is still vivid after all these years simply because of the expensive and unique quality of the fine chromolithography. Also this copy is in the sort of condition one might reasonably expect for such an old book. The fabulous illustrations are as rich and lustrous today as they must have been when this book was published. Unfortunately there is no date that I can find but I am pretty certain this is a First Edition First Impression because the printing is so vivid. Very much a book for the collector and rarely found in any state. Too often the plates are removed and framed and sold separately. The best description of this RARE and very distinguished book is STUNNING. 0.0 0.0 0.0. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. London: Ernest Nister hardcover

London: William Heinemann, Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott (1915). unknown
