Included in the kit are 18 vintage black and white borderless film still photographs and 58 pages of promotional and production information. The third final film in Polanski's "Apartment Trilogy" following "Repulsion" and "Rosemary's Baby" in which Polanski plays the role of a man who finds out that the previous tenant of his Parisian apartment attempted suicide by jumping out the window. Slowly the man becomes obsessed with the tenant taking on more and more of her habits ultimately including her attempts at self destruction. Nominated for the 1976 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or. Set in Paris and shot there on location. Photographs 8 x 10 inches. 18 pages of production information saddle stitched 8.5 x 11 inches with an additional 40 pages of corner stitched production information. Numerical annotations in holograph pencil and Contino's rubber-stamp on the versos. An impressive showcase in landscape format of a life behind barbed wire and the conditioning of inmates. Strasberg portrays a Jewish women sent to a concentration camp during WWII leading an escape plan even as the turmoil of war threatens to defeat her will. Pontecorvo's engaging war film with feminist undercurrents albeit overshadowed by what would become his most accomplished film "The Battle of Algiers" 1966. Nominated for an Academy Award Best Foreign Language Film. Shot on location in Yugoslavia. 9.5 x 14 inches. Italian neorealist director Gillo Pontecorvo's careful documentary style account of the guerrilla war for Algerian independence from France concentrating on the historical titular battle. Its unflinching depiction of both revolutionaries and counterinsurgents remains relevant to this day. ‎The Criterion Collection 1966. DVD Movie. Fine copy/fine. Three disc set two of which include various documentary features. The original film has been brilliantly restored. 121 minutes. Black & white. In French and Arabic with English subtitles. This remarkable film is of interest in so many ways. It concerns the uprising in the Algiers Casbah led by a small group of inspired rebels. Their antagonist a French colonel is just as inspired but in a different way. The main protagonist is Yacef Saadi one of the rebel leaders. It was he who conceived the idea of having young European-looking women place bombs in public cafés. Eventually he was captured and condemned to death but later pardoned and freed after Algeria achieved its independence from France. The real Yacef Saadi plays himself in this film after becoming its producer in 1966. However the story in the movie has been bowdlerised and is only partly true. The character of the sardonic Colonel Mathieu is fictional. It was based on Colonel Bigeard one of the Para commanders who won the Battle of Algiers twice but who helped lose the war. A more serious flaw though is that it was Yacef Saadi himself not a tortured informant who revealed the hiding place of Ali-la-Pointe. Still this film has been incredibly influential and retains its impact. The Criterion Collection‎

Set in Harlem the film featured an all-colored cast starring Monte Hawley Freddie Baker Robert Webb and the Harlem Dead End Kids. A morale-boosting crime-drama involving a gang of hoods disregarding their patriotic responsibilities as America enters WWII. The hoods are brought into line by the well-meaning Sargeant Holmes Jack Carr who educates them about the glories of the U.S. Army by showing them a film on military heroism. The film also involves a murder-mystery sub-plot involving 2 members of the gang one of which is unjustly incarcerated for a murder he did not commit. Original one-sheet poster lithographed in colors on white stock measuring 41" x 27".
