‎Jour de fete Original French Film Program‎

‎Paris: Cady Films 1949. Original French program for the 1949 Jacques Tati film "Jour de Fete" the director's first feature-length movie about a day in the life of a rural French postman illustrated throughout in color by Rene Peron. Rather than being a typical program with biographies photographs film stills and essays Tati's approach is to introduce the film's cast and crew details then tell its story along with illustrations in the manner of a children's book. "Jour de fete" was shot in both Thomson-Color and black-and-white and due to processing difficulties with the former only the black-and-white version was seen for decades until 1995 when the color version was restored. Fascinatingly this rare program clearly illustrates the vivid color that Tati intended audiences in France and Europe to see-though no one did. Tall card wrappers in full color saddle-stitched with full-color illustrations throughout and photomontages from the film printed on the wrapper verso. 12 x 8 inches. About Near Fine. A unique piece from one of the most important French films of the twentieth century. BFI 603 Criterion Collection 730. BFI 1048. Criterion Collection 730. Godard Histoires du cinema. Rosenbaum 1000. ‎Words and Music Original photograph from the set of the 1948 film‎

‎Beverly Hills CA: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer MGM 1948. Vintage still photograph from the set of the 1948 film. Featuring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland laughing together in conversation while then-toddler Liza Minnelli tugs on her mother's hand in the foreground. Mimeograph snipe and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer rubber stamp to the verso. A highly fictionalized and especially glamorous account of the creative partnership between Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. The star-studded film billed as "the biggest musical in Technicolor" was a hit at the box office though still barely able to recoup its heavy production costs. Rooney and Garland's final on-screen appearance together. The film was criticized for having sanitized the mental health problems and self-destructive behavior Hart suffered from that ultimately led to the break-up of the partnership as well as for omitting any mention of his homosexuality instead fabricating a fictional romantic attachment to a "Peggy McNeil." Set in New York City and Los Angeles. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine. Hirschhorn 25 299. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer [MGM] unknown‎

‎Search for the Gods Original screenplay for the 1975 film‎

‎Burbank CA: Warner Brothers 1974. Final Draft script for the 1975 film. Originally intended as the pilot episode of an ultimately unproduced television series and loosely based on the books of Erich von Daniken. Shan Mullins Russell and Genera Juantez Racimo are searching for a mysterious golden tablet an artifact they believe to be evidence that aliens visited Earth in ancient times profoundly affecting the technological advancement of the human race. The possibility of life on other planets in our galaxy was essentially ruled out in the late 1960s and early 1970s however this did not stop scientists and enthusiasts from attempting to communicate with extraterrestrials. This script predates by two months the infamous "Arecibo message" a modulated radio wave containing binary digits intended to explain life on Earth and its relation to other planets sent into space a single time in November 1974. The message composed by Frank Drake and Carl Sagan is generally regarded as the best-known experiment in communication with extraterrestrial intelligence. Director Taylor's career is studded with credits as director actor and writer with notable films like "The Garment Jungle" 1957 "The Fugitive Kind" 1960 "The Great Escape" 1963 as well as several television movies and series programs including "The Old Man and the Sea" 1990 "Star Trek" 1968-1969 "The Fugitive" 1963-1967 and "Dr. Kildare" 1961-1966. Set in the American Southwest shot on location in New Mexico. Goldenrod titled wrappers.
