The Crusaders Order of the World Inc. An upper-stapled publication in English measuring 8-3/4" by 10-3/4" and containing 10 pages including front and rear covers with the inside pages printed in black ink from a hand-cranked mimeograph machine. The front cover contains a photograph of the headquarters that at 1857 Anthony Avenue in New York City as printed: Administration Building 1857 Anthony Avenue Corner Mt. Hope Place Between 176th & 177th Streets New York N.Y." and headlined "The Crusaders Academy of Science Incorporated Constituted for the promotion and development of the spiritual and mental faculties Directed by the Masters of The Crusaders Order of the World. Inc." No date although circa 1932 based on one issue listed on this site that ascertains the "future date" day of the year of "1932 Christmas" from an astrological table. Condition: front cover shows periodic mostly small edge chips; some annotations in pencil to inside pages by former owner; covers age-toned and fragile. History from the very scant information I was able to find on the internet: the 16-room mansion located at 1857 Anthony Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx New York and now claimed to be haunted was known as the Shuttleworth Mansion built in 1896 by Edwin Shuttleworth. Still standing and certified as a City landmark Gaetano Russo and his wife Elvira purchased the mansion in 1928. Their son-in-law William Evers who married the Russo's daughter Gilda purchased the house circa 1937 one website indicates that he owned the property for 70 years and at the age of 91 sold the mansion in 2007 for $675000. When William Evers and his wife Gilda married they lived five blocks away and it wasn't until 1962 that he moved into the house. The mansion served as headquarters for the Masonic Society's The Crusaders Order of the World. The Director General Gaetano Russo - possibly a chiropractor and possibly part owner of a funeral home in Brooklyn - brought lamps and other fixtures from the Harlem Masonic Club to outfit the mansion in the 1930s. Edmond Grace Lyonheart served as Grand Master of the organization. The lessons issued from the Order were printed in either English or Italian. France: Cine France 1927. Original French program for the 1927 film with a flyer for the world premiere at the Palais Garnier in Paris laid in. One of the late masterpieces of the silent era following Napoleon's early life through his appointment as Commander in Chief of the Army and invasion of Italy one of six films director Abel Gance planned about the life of the French statesmen and the only one he completed. The film is notable for the many innovative and experimental techniques Gance used uncommon in the silent era including location shooting fast cutting close up hand held and point of view shots multiple camera set ups in-camera movement and visual effects such as superimposition film tinting and split screen or mosaic shots. Most famously the film helped pioneer truly widescreen viewing as Gance created a technique later referred as Polyvision which required three projectors to run film shot from three different cameras simultaneously to achieve a 4:1 aspect ratio for the film's climatic battle sequence although seams between the screens would remain visible. After only showing at a handful of theatres the film which originally ran over four hours was severely cut when it was acquired by MGM with only the middle section of the triptych being retained the other two sections remaining mostly unseen until the film was fully restored in the early 1980s. 10 x 13 inches bound with a string binding. Laid in is a 17 page shooting schedule under the title "Girl Crazy" dated 7-13-65. <br/><br/>Based on the 1930 musical "Girl Crazy" by Guy Bolton and John McGowan with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin respectively.<br/><br/>Previously filmed twice before first in 1932 directed by William A. Seiter and starring Bert Wheeler and Dorothy Lee then in 1943 directed by Norman Taurog and Busby Berkely and starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.<br/><br/>Playboy and heir Danny Churchill Harve Presnell helps Ginger Gray Connie Francis save her father's ranch by turning it into a motel for divorcees.<br/><br/>The last feature film acting role of Connie Francis.<br/><br/>Set in Nevada shot on location in Nevada and California. <br/><br/>Yellow titled wrappers rubber-stamped copy No. 73 dated July 7 1965 with credits for screenwriter Robert E. Based on the 1947 novel and stage play by Calder Willingham "End As a Man" and with much of the same cast as the stage production. Set at a southern military college Jocko de Paris Ben Gazzara is a sadistic cadet leader well known to be violent and power-hungry. In a particularly malicious act of hazing he sets up the expulsion of the son of the school's headmaster and subsequently manipulates his social circle into silence until they can no longer take it. In a later white leatherette binding with Jean Harlow's name and the date of the treatment Dec. 15 1931 in gilt on the front board and the spine. Original front wrapper bound in. Based on the 1931 novel by Crosbie here spelled Crosby Garstin with Garstin and screenwriters John Colton and John Lynch credited on the front wrapper. Likely the earliest draft for the story idea that led to the 1935 film preceding production by nearly 4 years. When earthy Dolly Portland Harlow is rejected by Captain Gaskell Clark Gable in favor of a socialite she aids Jamesy McCardle Wallace Beery in league with Malay pirates in his plot to seize Gaskell's ship. In other words hell hath no fury. White leatherette binding with gilt titles to the front board and spine. blue studio wrapper with the MGM white title label noted as Proposed Treatment on the front wrapper rubber-stamped copy No. 0818 and production No. 2026 dated Dec. 15 1931 with credits for novelist Garstin and screenwriters Colton and Lynch.
