A studio one-sheet prepared for the U.S. English language distribution of Rotha's documentary originally produced in West Germany under the auspices of Real-Film GmbH and written in collaboration with Robert Neumann and Helga Koppel. The film was also distributed under the alternate title THE LIFE OF ADOLF HITLER. This was the last of Rotha's full-length documentaries and was initially undertaken as a cautionary means to inform younger Germans about the origins of Nazism. It set a precedent for the treatment of the subject and its release under this title and translations thereof set against a background of a skull and a city and a swastika in flames as well as under the less emotive "THE LIFE OF ." and its variants suggests parallel marketing campaigns aimed at two different audiences.
