Deborah Dainton Samantha Eggar a polio victim in childhood is a young woman who uses a walking stick she doesn't really need and leads a heavily structured somewhat reclusive life until she meets the charming mediocre artist Leigh Hartley David Hemmings. Through Hartley's insistence friendship then romance blossoms and Dainton feels truly happy for the first time in her life. Good. ex-library copy in excellent condition aside from case markings; Though its purely propagandastic aspects are never far from surface Destination Tokyo must rank as one of the most intelligent and objective of wartime thrillers. Cary Grant is a tower of strength as Captain Cassidy skipper of an American submarine bound for Tokyo harbor. Its mission: to allow a Navy meterologist to survey Japanese weather conditions in preparation for a major Allied assault. Many of the individual incidents in Delmar Daves' script are based on fact notably an episode in which a pharmacist's mate is called upon to perform an emergency appendectomy. Admittedly some of the secondary characters are WWII stereotypes but they're never played that way. Particularly good isDane Clark in his first important screen role; also registering well as a radio man is John Forsythe in his first screen role ever. From the sub's embarkation in San Francisco to its climactic retreat from Japan there's not a single solitary dull moment in the 135 minutes of Destination Tokyo. ~ Hal Erickson MGM (Warner) unknown

Accompanied by a twenty-page German language program and single-page English promotional synopsis for the film. <br/><br/>An early draft written by screenwriter Jeffrey Boam a year after the novel's release at the request of Lorimar Film Entertainment before they shuttered their film division and the rights went to Dino De Laurentiis. This draft of the script includes a gruesome ending in which Johnny has a vision of the Castle Rock serial killer as he dies which director David Cronenberg later requested be revised. <br/><br/>Based on the 1979 novel by Stephen King about a man who wakes up from a five year coma with an uncontrollable psychic power: the ability to see the past and future of anyone he touches. King is said to have approved of Boam and Cronenberg's substantial changes to his work stating that they "intensified the power of the narrative." <br/><br/>Set in Castle Rock Maine shot on location in Ontario. <br/><br/>Partial blue untitled wrapper. Two vintage borderless black-and-white photographs from the Canadian release of the 1977 horror film. <br/><br/>David Cronenberg's fourth film continuing his meditation of horrific transformations of the human body. Chambers plays a woman who after being injured in a motorcycle accident and undergoing a surgical operation develops an orifice under one of her armpits. The orifice hides a phallic stinger that she uses to feed on people's blood. Those she feeds upon become rabid zombies whose bite spreads the disease leading to a Toronto-wide pandemic. <br/><br/>In an interview for the 2004 DVD release of the film by Somerville House Cronenberg stated that he wanted to cast Sissy Spacek in the film lead but the studio vetoed his choice because of her accent. The idea of casting Chambers came from producer Ivan Reitman who had heard that Chambers was looking for a mainstream role in the US with no success. Reitman felt that it would be easier to market the film in different territories if the well-known porn star portrayed the main character. <br/><br/>8 x 10 inches. Near Fine. <br/><br/>Muir US. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Original screenplay for the 2008 film
Universal City: Universal Studios 1990. Early First Draft script for the 2008 film dated 1990 from screenwriter Robin Swicord. Swicord who received a joint Story credit with screenwriter Eric Roth in the film's final release was first hired by Columbia Pictures to adapt Fitzgerald's short story as early as 1985 by 1989 the project moved to Universal Studios with producer Ray Stark holding the rights who is credited on this draft. It wasn't until 2003 that credited screenwriter Eric Roth would be brought on to adapt Swicord's screenplay with Gary Ross reported to direct . Paramount who developed a joint co-production with Universal for the project in 1999 announced David Fincher as director in 2005. Between 1990 and 2003 various directors screenwriters and actors were reported attached to the project including Frank Oz Martin Short Agnieszka Holland Daniel Day-Lewis Phil Alden Robinson Steven Spielberg Tom Cruise Spike Jonze Charlie Kaufman and Ron Howard.<br/><br/>Based on the 1922 short story by F. Scott Fizgerald.<br/><br/>David Fincher's melancholic and surprisingly heart-warming saga of the life of a man Brad Pitt who is born old and ages in reverse and the woman who he was always destined to love Daisy Cate Blanchett. Featuring remarkable visual effects deftly executed by Fincher.<br/><br/>Winner of three Academy Awards nominated for ten others including Best Picture Best Director Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.<br/><br/>Red untitled wrappers.
