Collana Studi religiosi iniziatici ed esoterici. Una dedica del tempo all'occhiello. Pù che buon esemplare. Prima edizione di questo saggio a metà fra l'esoterismo e la filosofia estetica di Onofri (Roma, 1885-ivi, 1928), letterato ritenuto da molti critici uno dei principali precursori dell'ermetismo; l'opera di Onofri risente degli influssi di Pascoli, di D'Annunzio, dei futuristi e dei crepuscolari, nonché dell'inegnamento esoterico di Rudolf Steiner, particolarmente evidente in questo libro. "Elemento dominante, la solarità (simbolo della potenza di Dio), calata sulla terra, diviene emblema di quel rinascimento che è oggetto del saggio del 1925. In esso, attuando una sintesi di neoplatonismo e spiritualismo evoluzionista, è propugnata l’idea che l’arte sia alla stregua di una forma di conoscenza: essa è l’attività più alta dello spirito umano, rivelatrice della natura divina in ogni individuo. Bross. post. riproducente la cop. della rivista. segni a penna in cop., ottimo l'internocon 3 FIGURE e molti SCHEMI sul bello in MUSICA, POESIA, e ARTI FIGURATIVE sia classiche che moderne. Da notare che la parte finale (sulle ricerche di Jay Hambidge e di Crawford Pierce sulla serie di FIBONACCI e sulla SEZIONE AUREA) fu poi omessa nel libro che successivamente sarebbe stato pubblicato. OTTAVIANO, fondatore nel 1933 di questa rivista, docente a Caglari, Napoli e poi a Catania, cultore di studi medievali su Abelardo, Gioacchino da Fiore e Pietro Lombardo, polemico contro Croce,e l'idealismo, contro Gentile e l'attualismo e fautore di una metodologia ispirata da una forte fiducia nella scienza e nel procedere dell’indagine razionale (cfr. Bellissima tavola a colori fuori testo posta all'inizio del volume realizzata da Ottorino Stefani con dedica dello stesso e titolo “Prova d'Artista”. Seconda edizione ma arricchita dalla tavola originale aggiunta dall'artista presente solo in questa copia. Importante e rara monografia dedicata all'arte del Canova dal noto artista di Treviso nato a Volpago del Montello, Ottorino Stefani. Esemplare perfetto e unico per la tavola aggiunta.
