‎Guter Zustand. -- Die Thesen des vorliegenden Buches haben schon vor seinem Erscheinen in der Öffentlichkeit ein lebhaftes Echo gefunden. Sie wurden leidenschaftlich abgelehnt in Kreisen, die die Bestreitung der Körperlichen Auferstehung Jesu als Verrat am Evangelium ansehen -nd juristische Maßnahmen gegen den Verfasser als natürliche Konsequenz fordern. Anderen, die sich als moderne Christen auffassen, ging die Aussage zur Verwesung des Leichnams Jesu zu weit, und sie warfen dem Buch eine Überschätzung der Geschichtswissenschaft -nd eine Unterschätzung der Theologie vor. Aber trotz aller Einwände und Widerstände hat das Buch doch bereits etwas in Bewegung gesetzt und einen Prozeß der Gärung eingeleitet, der der Klärung dessen dient, was überhaupt unter "Auferstehung" zu verstehen ist. Es will belehren, um zu beleben, und einen menschlich-vemünftigen Zugang zur "Auferstehung" vermitteln. Das ist um so wichtiger, als die "Auferstehung" Jesu weithin zu einem unentbehrlichen Requisit der Theologie und dadurch zu einer Leerformel geworden ist. Viele Christenmenschen sind heute einer schizophrenen Bewußtseinsspaltung verfallen. Die geheiligten Sperrbezirke kirch-licher und theologischer Überlieferung stehen vielfach dem natürlichen menschlichen Wahrheitssinn unvermittelt gegenüber. Gelingt hier kein Brückenschlag, ist die Glaubwürdigkeit von Theologie und Kirche dahin, und beide erstarren in scheinhaftem Glanz zu Tode. Dabei schielt das vorliegende Buch ausdrücklich nicht nach dem Kirchlichen Nutzen seiner Ergebnisse, sondern will zunächst die historische Wahrheit erforschen - rücksichtslos und ehrlich. Erst auf der Basis solcher quasi empirischen Arbeit ist eine theologische Reflexion möglich, die im vorliegenden Werk allerdings nicht das Schwergewicht hat. -- Über die Anlage und die Notwendigkeit der vorliegenden Arbeit geben die ersten beiden Kapitel Auskunft. Leser und Leserinnen, die nicht so sehr an der Theologie, sondern vor allem an der Geschichte interessiert sind, können gleich bei Kapitel 3 einsetzen. Wer es eilig hat, mag erst Kap. 5 und 6 lesen und dann entscheiden, ob die Lektüre des restlichen Buches lohnt. Überhaupt wünsche ich mir als Leserschaft nicht nur (angehende) Theologen, sondern vor allem auch nachdenkliche, irgendwie am Christentum interessierte Menschen, die der christlichen Sache an ihrem zentralen Punkt auf den Grund gehen wollen. De nombreux exemples, ainsi que des textes inedits, viennent etayer l'argumentation, et montrer comment transformations formelles et manipulations semantiques de la reecriture sont les deux faces d'un unique phenomene, observation qui prouve une fois de plus a quel point les approches litteraire et historique sont indissociables. ‎Summary In the last decade, biblical exegesis has gradually taken into consideration the so-called "spatial turn." However, the literary concept of space and its narrative analysis have found less interest than the study of space as a social and cultural phenomenon. This obvious gap in biblical research has become the impulse for the present work, dedicated to the book of Judith. Its aim is, on the one hand, to present the narrative analysis of space as a still-developing field in non-biblical literature and, on the other, to show how this promising approach can be developed in biblical studies. In particular, this monograph provides the narrative analysis and interpretation of space in the book of Judith in response. The first part of the study offers a synthetic overview of perceptions, concepts and theories of space from antiquity to contemporary research, and of the theoretical approaches to space in the Old Testament. The main part is dedicated to the analysis of space on the micro and macro levels of the Judith story through the application of Katrin Dennerlein's narratological theory of space. Thus, it can be demonstrated to what extent an in-depth analysis of the notion of space can contribute to better understand its thematic and symbolic dimension in the narrative, its function of characterising persons and actions, its role as a structuring element in the story and, last but not least, as a vehicle for an ideological and theological message.
