Shows Eastern parts of Anatolia; Siverek, Urfa city and border of Diyarbakir and Adiyaman cities; Siverek; Harput (Kharpout); et alli. Scale: 1/200.000. Hegira: 1333 = Gregorian: 1917. Not description on map-maker. This is one the serie of the Bonn projection maps which are the first map series in modern techniques in Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. This is one the serie of the Bonn projection maps which are the first map series in modern techniques in Turkey and the Ottoman Empire. In order to produce these maps covering Turkish territory, Reconnaissance Branch was incorporated into The Mapping Commission. The maps were produced in the datum based on the latitude and longitude of Ayasofya Mosque in equal area Bonn Projection. The field works for the 123 sheets covering the country were conducted by 76 staff. The production was completed in 18 years starting from east west. Field works continued without stopping except in years 1914 and 1920. This map series called also reconnaissance maps contributed a lot to producing 1:25.000 scale maps. Subasi is cartographer of this map according to Türkezer - Cobanoglu: History of Mapping in Turkey-1:200.000 Scale Maps.

"Quand on parle des Juifs argentins, nous pensons en général aux colonies agricoles installées et maintenues par le Baron Maurice de Hirsch à travers la Jewish Colonisation Association vers la fin du XIX? siècle. Composant près de 80% des Juifs argentins, la communauté ashkénaze est la plus connue et celle dont l'immigration a été la plus étudiée. Dans le présent ouvrage l'attention est mise sur les Judéo-espagnols d'Orient en tant que groupe à part entière qui mérite une étude dédiée et approfondie. Tous les travaux existants traitent le sujet « séfarade » comme s'il s'agissait d'un seul grand groupe homogène qui partage les mêmes traditions, la même culture. Néanmoins, il s'agit en fait de différents groupes bien distincts, originaires d'aires géographiques différentes, comme l'Afrique du nord, l'Empire ottoman (avec là encore des origines différentes dans l'Empire), l'Italie, le Proche et l'Extrême Orient, etc. L'ouvrage analysera les premières années du développement de ces communautés, les relations qui eurent lieu entre elles et les autres communautés juives, ainsi que leur adaptation à l'Argentine et à la vie sociale et culturelle de Buenos Aires. Notre travail commence en 1876 avec l'arrivée des premiers Juifs non-Ashkénazes en Argentine, les Marocains, à une période importante dans la jeune république où les portes sont grandes ouvertes pour accueillir les immigrants. Enfin, nous nous proposons d'essayer de comprendre la participation exclusive des Judéo-espagnols d'Orient dans le contexte non-ashkénaze argentin. Jean-Baptiste Annibal Aubert du Bayet (1757-1797), militaire français né en Louisiane, ayant servi lors de la guerre d'Indépendance des Etats-Unis, député en 1791, général de la révolution, ministre de la guerre, ambassadeur à Constantinople où il meurt. L.A.S., Péra-lez-Constantinople [quartier d'Istanbul aujourd'hui], 25 prairial an 5 [13 juin 1797], 2p in-4. Belle lettre à entête imprimé de l'ambassadeur avec mention en haut « Liberté Égalité ». Au « général St Cyr à Bucharest », i.e. Claude Carra-Saint-Cyr (1760-1834), fidèle d'Aubert qu'il accompagne à Constantinople. Il prendra sa place à sa mort et épousera aussi sa veuve. Cette sympathique lettre mentionne la réception de deux lettres de Saint-Cyr, numérotées, et l'envoi de réponses. Ce sont probablement des lettres confidentielles, d'où la tournure des phrases. « Je reçois aujourd'hui par le courrier tardif de la Bosnie les nouvelles de la démocratisation de ces odieux aristocrates, ou plutôt aulicrates, de Venise. Il y a six mois qu'il nous aurait fallu avoir cette trop tardive révolution ». « Je vous annonce avec regret que je reçois aujourd'hui les arrêtés que le directoire a pris le 18 pluviôse et 30 ventôse par lesquels je vois que le citoyen Flury a été nommé consul général de la Valachie et Parent vice-consul à Jassy. Il n'en faut pas moins attendre l'arrivée du consul avant de quitter Bucharest ». Il s'agit ici de Charles Flûry (1765-1842) et de Joseph Parant (1776-1806, mort à Bucarest). Les principautés de Valachie et de Jassy (Ia?i) sont des parties de la Roumanie actuelle. Carra-Saint-Cyr attendra bien les deux diplomates qui arriveront le 24 décembre 1797, après de décès d'Aubert du Bayet (17 décembre). Il partira peu après pour Constantinople. Très intéressante lettre. [69-2]
