This book edited by Pamela Pfau and Kenneth Marx is Davies' memoir of those years. It was withheld from publication until after Davies' death. First edition early printing. About 7 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches 275 pages bound in black & brown marbled paper-covered boards with title centered in gold on front cover and gold lettering on spine. Illustrated with numerous b & w celebrity photos and several charts detailing aspects of Davies' life such as an inventory of her jewelry and a listing of her movies and their revenue/losses. Also includes a foreword by Orson Welles and an index. Sorry no dustjacket. Boards show only very minor wear along edges and spine ends. Previous owner's bookplate on inside cover and small "shadow" on fep where price sticker was removed. Text is complete clean and unmarked. No significant flaws or damage. There is a lot of Shakespeare in this book "written not merely to instruct but to give pleasure" for high school students but a lot of Robertson Davies too. Their "collaboration" makes for quite an interesting book. Davies has comments for the teacher for the student and director-like in the midst of the script itself on the meaning or how to act the scene.
