Housed in the original brown paper envelope with with annotations on the front in holograph pencil and ink noting photographer M. Dole. Three photographs with Gravaert watermark and five with brief holograph pencil on the versos. <br/><br/>Among the photographs are two fascinating images behind the scenes of an animal pageant: in one a mildly bemused audience spotted with various styles of contemporary women's hat fashion in the other a representative from the youth organization holding a sign reading "Nous cherchons un Maître" We are looking for a Master. A few pageant officials also seen a presenter in horn-rimmed glasses and two dog handlers one resembling noted Hollywood trainer Rudd Weatherwax who trained the original Old Yeller with his brother Frank. Hollywood: Paramount Pictures 1933. Collection of five vintage photographs from the 1933 film including three double weight and two single weight photographs. With stamps or holograph annotations to most of the photographs. Based on William Faulkner's 1931 controversial literary potboiler "Sanctuary." The story concerns a wealthy and neurotic Southern belle who falls in with a violent bootlegger who rapes her and forces her into prostitution. Every bit as controversial as the source material the film's depiction of the assault was graphic and shocking even among films of the era and along with the same year's equally sensational "Baby Face" was directly responsible for the stricter enforcement of the Production Code beginning the next year bringing the pre-Code era to a close. George Raft then under contract to Paramount was assigned the role of the bootlegger but found the part repulsive and went to battle with the studio in a suit that nearly cost him his career. Unavailable for decades outside of 16mm bootlegs the film was restored by the Museum of Modern Art in 2011 and screened at the TCM Classic Film Festival but still awaits a commercial release. Based on the 1951 novel by James Michener about Mr. Morgan Gary Cooper a drifter and soldier-of-fortune on a Pacific island that is a under the rule of Pastor Corbett Barry Jones a missionary. Morgan has a child out of wedlock with island native Maeva Roberta Haynes but leaves the island and the young child after Maeya's death. He returns years later in search of his daughter. Based on the 1957 biography of Gladys Aylward by Alan Burgess titled "The Small Woman". Gladys Aylward Ingrid Bergman was born in 1902 in England. After being denied the opportunity to become a missionary due to her lack of education she paid her way to China and helped start a mission in Shansi Privince in 1930. In 1938 she guided over 100 orphans to safety over a mountain pass as Japanese forces invaded the area. According to the AFI catalog Aylward denounced the film and stated that the romance between her and a Chinese colonel depicted in the film was false. Nominated for an Academy Award. Burbank CA: Warner Brothers 1989. Revised Draft script for the 1995 film. 17 year old Henri Young Bacon steals five dollars from a grocery store to feed his little sister. He is caught his sister is sent to an orphanage and he never sees her again and unfortunately for him the grocery store also housed a post office making the crime a federal offense. He is sent to Alcatraz where he attempts escape and is foiled by a fellow inmate leaving him sentenced to solitary confinement in the basement of the island prison. Upon his release he has a psychotic episode in which he stabs his betrayer to death with a spoon. James Stamphill Slater is to defend him alleging that Alcatraz drove him insane. Red titled wrappers. Draft script for an unproduced television pilot by Howard Rodman whose brief but extremely impressive docket includes the screenplay for three Don Siegel-directed films: "Madigan" 1968 "Coogan's Bluff" 1968 and "Charley Varrick" 1973. Rodman also served as a writer and story supervisor on three major television series: "Naked City" 1960-1963 "Route 66 1960-1963 and "Harry O" 1973-1976. Light blue titled wrappers. Published by Author. Offered is the first and possibly only draft of the film screenplay entitled "Ruggers" by writer producer and director Roger C. Nygard. A draft script dated 5-5-86 the scenes are not numbered the film to my knowledge was never made. The screenplay contains 124 machine-copied loose leaf pages including title page. With blank light blue front and rear covers with covers and pages measuring 8-1/2" by 11" printed on one side three-hole punched bound together with upper and lower brass brads.
