A young boy Peter Miles is enamored with the colt he has been entrusted to raise only to find the colt has caught an illness and is dying. Steinbeck's first film assignment though other Steinbeck screenplays would end up being released prior to "The Red Pony." At the time it was the longest and costliest production in Republic history borrowing Robert Mitchum from RKO and also starring Myrna Loy. Set in and shot on location in California. 8 x 10 inches. The release dialogue script records a print totaling 51 more feet than the censorship script. Irving Pichel directed and Dorothy Lamour J. Carrol Naish and Arturo de Cordova led the cast. Obviously little apart from Steinbeck's treatment for the film the Valentine collection included a carbon typescript may be easily identified as purely Steinbeck's work; however nothing relating to the script saw lifetime publication so even continuity scripts such as these take on some significance for Steinbeck scholars. ‎Hollywood: Paramount Pictures 1933. Collection of five vintage photographs from the 1933 film.<br/><br/>Based on William Faulkner's 1931 controversial literary potboiler "Sanctuary." The story concerns a wealthy and neurotic Southern belle who falls in with a violent bootlegger who rapes her and forces her into prostitution. Every bit as controversial as the source material the film's depiction of the assault was graphic and shocking even among films of the era and along with the same year's equally sensational "Baby Face" was directly responsible for the stricter enforcement of the Production Code beginning the next year bringing the pre-Code era to a close. <br/><br/>George Raft then under contract to Paramount was assigned the role of the bootlegger but found the part repulsive and went to battle with the studio in a suit that nearly cost him his career. <br/><br/>Unavailable for decades outside of 16mm bootlegs the film was restored by the Museum of Modern Art in 2011 and screened at the TCM Classic Film Festival but still awaits a commercial release. <br/><br/>Photographs between 9.75 x 7.5 and 8 x 10 inches. Copied annotations throughout noting or revising scene numbers. <br/><br/>Created by the makers of the MTV sketch comedy series "The Idiot Box" 1990-1991.<br/><br/>Originally intended as a low budget horror film featuring the experimental rock band Butthole Surfers which director and screenwriter Alex Winter co-star of the "Bill and Ted" film series worked with previously in the 1988 short film "Bar-B-Que Movie." The concept transformed into as Winter described it "'Beach Blanket Bingo' meets 'The Evil Dead." Joe Roth head of 20th Century Fox loved the idea and green-lit the project. Unfortunately Roth was fired during filming and the new studio head Peter Chernin hated it severely slashing the budget. After poor test screenings it was pulled from nationwide release and only opened to two theaters in the US. Revived on VHS then DVD and Blu-Ray it has since been recognized as the cult favorite it was made to be.<br/><br/>Spoiled actor Ricky Coogin Winter best friend Earnie Michael Stoyanov and pretty girl activist Julie Megan Ward find themselves trapped at Freek Land a freak show run by mad scientist Elijah C. The pinnacle of computer graphics technology at the time a hybrid of back-lit live action and computer-generated visuals "TRON" was one of the first of many films to reflect the burgeoning video game craze of the 1980s. The creation of these hybrid graphics took the work of at least four distinct graphics firms with over 550 people involved in post-production work. <br/><br/>While critically acclaimed for its flashy visual spectacle "TRON" fared more poorly at the box office than the studio expected though in time the film would escape its cult status and become the highly-lauded landmark in science fiction film history that it had always been.
