A studio pressbook for this western the story and screenplay attributed to "John T. Williams." In fact the actual screenwriter was Bernard Gordon 1918-2007 and Williams a front. Gordon was subpoenaed by the HUAC but did not appear; instead he was named by a friendly witness fired from his studio job and blacklisted. From 1954 until 1962 his work including EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS etc was undertaken via a front most often as "Raymond T. Marcus." Prior to his death the University of Texas Press published two of his accounts of life under the Black List. The prolific and often bombastic William Castle directed this "true story of the fastest gun of them all ." Included are six vintage black-and-white reference still photographs from the film. <br/><br/>Bob Willoughby 1927-2009 studied with Saul Bass at the Kann Institute of Art in Los Angeles worked as a photographer for magazines such as "Life" "Look" and "Harper's Bazaar" and as a set photographer for every major studio documenting some of most important films of the era and creating intimate portraits of some of Hollywood's greatest celebrities. <br/><br/>Willoughby moved his family to County Cork Ireland in 1972 working on only a handful of films through the late 1970s and early 1980s this was one of his final films though he would continue to photograph exhibit and publish books for the remainder of his life. <br/><br/>Based on Evelyn Anthony's 1971 novel about a woman on holiday in the Caribbean who meets a handsome Russian. Judith Farrow Andrews meets Feodor Sverdlov Sharif and together they visit all the beautiful spots on the island but Judith's ties to the British government and Feodor's to the Russian government cause problems for their romance. An underrated but serious look at espionage in the Cold War. <br/><br/>Set in Barbardos and shot on location there and in London and Paris. <br/><br/>Yellow titled wrappers marked copy No. 122. Directed and written for the screen by Peter Bogdanovich featuring a score that consists entirely of songs composed by Cole Porter and starring Burt Reynolds Cybill Shepherd and Madeline Kahn. The eclectic director's tribute to the musicals of Hollywood from the 1930s and 1940s which utilized an inventive style that involved non-professional actors singing their lines live rather than the very established use of overdubs. The reception to the film was so poor upon its release that Bogdanovich released a public apology for its quality; however over time its innate charm has made it beloved among many film fans and cinephiles. Red titled wrappers with a holograph notation of Copy No. 9 at the top right corner of the front wrapper and a date of June 3 1974 at the bottom right. Los Angeles: Time Life Films 1980. Revised Shooting script for the 1981 film dated February 28 1980. Included are five vintage black-and-white reference still photographs from the film. The story of three private detectives hired by jealous husbands to follow two beautiful women though the detectives then become entangled themselves. In a tragic case of life mimicking art director Bogdanovich had begun an affair with leading actress Dorothy Stratten and the pair was found out by a private detective hired by Stratten's husband Paul Snider. Snider then killed Stratten and committed suicide before the film was released. The last theatrical release in which Audrey Hepburn played a lead role. Though now experiencing something of a critical renaissance Bogdanovich found little box office success upon the film's release purchasing and distributing the film himself after Twentieth-Century Fox had shelved the film for a year. Without titled wrappers. Title page present dated February 28 1980 noted as Shooting Script Revised with credits for screenwriter Bogdanovich. 156 leaves photocopied with a white revision page dated 8/13/79.
