Governatore di Galla e Sidamo in Etiopia, favorì la convivenza, lo sviluppo dell'agricoltura, diede un volto nuovo alla città di Gimma ecc.; la difesa e la sconfitta africana del 1941. Beraudo di Pralormo; la prigionia in USA, i problemi al rientro.

In-8° (cm. 25,2), pp. 65 (da p. 357 a p. 421), Bross. provvisoria a c. della Bottega d'Erasmo. La settecentesca "Cronaca abbreviata" era stata pubblicata nel 1901. I due nuovi mzss. sono uno senza data, l'altro scritto a Gondar nel 1900; si tratta di una specie di "Cronaca interpolata", il t5esto è in ge'ez e costituisce la prima fonte di importanti "leggende stooriche" (di cui si trovano tracce in frammenti amarici posteriori). Qui sono riportati in traduzione italiana. GUIDI, orientalista, docente di ebraico e di lingue semitiche, senatore del Regno (dal 1914), socio dell'Accademia dei Lincei.

Première garde blanche déchirée. Petites rousseurs et mouillures claires en marge. Bel atlas comprenant 54 planches (sur 55), dont 10 de cartes et plans et 44 de vues et de types d'hommes et de femmes. Ces 44 planches sont lithographiées par Bayot, Ciceri, Jacottet, Sabatier et Vogt d'après des épreuves daguerriennes et les dessins de Caraguel et Bridet. Quarante-trois sont en deux tons et une, la 50, est en noir sur chine collé. Une planche volante ,il manque la planche 49, devant représenter la « Carte des dépendances de Mombase » .
