Die Bögen sind gerollt, das bedruckte Papier wurde noch nicht beschnitten. Die Druckbögen gingen der Buchpublikation "Surrounded Islands" (1984) voraus, welche später in mehreren Auflagen veröffentlicht wurde. Hier handelt es sich um Verlagsmaterialien im Vorfeld der Buchveröffentlichung. Diese wurden an einschlägige Buchhandlungen zur Präsentation oder für Veranstaltungen versandt. Auf der Versandrolle der hier vorliegenden Druckbögen wurde "Autorenbh, Berlin 12" geschrieben. Es handelt sich um die bekannte West-Berliner "Autorenbuchhandlung" in Charlottenburg. Anstelle von Kaiserfolgen dem Wiederk�uen der Ereignisse der Punischen Kriege und Memoiren C�sars sollte endlich mal gezeigt werden wie die normale Bev�lkerung im alten Rom lebte. Leicht verst�ndlich und vorstellbar. Was soll ich sagen - dieses Buch tut genau das auf unterhaltsame und informative Art. Endlich wird das Leben im Imperium Romanum vorstellbar. Realistisch und weit weg von Hollywood-Klischees. So mancher Geschichtslehrer sollte es vielleicht mal in seinen Unterricht einbauen. Alle Interessierten an der Antike ist es auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
