A notable local leader in social services and founder of Local Bengali Daily (1981). Authored several books in English and Bengali - His Vidyasagar in the World Perspective (from Napoleon to Mao), a criticism on Gandhiji, history of Muslims in India and an honourable evaluation of the Quran, Essays on Bharat vs India, Jago Bharat are well circulated in West Bengal and appeared as best seller. Contributes political articles in 2 Bengali weeklies of Calcutta.
