A short piece providing assessments on land in Maine by Daniel Rose then land agent. He reports on the upper regions of the Penobscot River among others discussing feasibility of logging and timber operations as well as the establishing of portages and roads in the remote interior of Maine. Rose mentions the necessity of defensive posts along the boundary of Maine and along the portages as well as discussing land in the various unnamed townships. GOOD condition.
