The Okonite Co. founded in 1878 was one of the original insulators of electrical wire and cable in the United States. Early customers included Samuel F.B. Morse for his telegraph network and Thomas A. Edison for the Pearl Street Generating Station the nation's first built in New York City in 1882. This publication honored Hazard-Okonite who were serving in World War Two. It includes various messages from fellow employees of the firm and lists all those who were serving in May 1944 with their contact information. Writing on the front including the name and address of Dom Servillo the secretary-treasurer of the Service Committee that produced the booklet. A very scarce World War Two item. A set of data sheets detailing high water levels during the March 25-26 1913 Great Flood on the Cleveland to Indianapolis Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Includes seventeen brad-bound sheets of translucent vellum architectural drawing paper. The data points include 'Structure Number of Locality' 'Kind of Structure' 'Distance of High Water below B/R on N. Side' 'Distance of High Water below B/R on S. Side' 'Distance of Clearance Line to B/R' 'Direction of Flow' and a final space for Remarks. Printed in black one correction in pencil noted. Overall condition Very Good with wrinkling and some small corner creases. Likely used in day to day railroad operation. Each sheet is 9 ¼ in. x 14 ¼ in. Housed in a plain manilla folder titled in red marker and blue ink "1913 Flood Levels" and Indianapolis Belt Railroad". Called "The Great Flood" for good reason this disaster's flood-related deaths in Ohio Indiana and eleven other states are estimated at 650. The official death toll range for Ohio falls between 422 and 470. Flood-related death estimates in Indiana range from 100 to 200. More than a quarter million people were left homeless. Half brown calf binding smooth spine slightly sunned and ruled in gilt marbled paper boards endpapers and pastedowns in caillouté paper contemporary binding. A rare copy of this satyrical and erotic novel about the love adventures of a dwarf and a giant. Despite their rivalry the dwarf remedies the giant's impotence by hiding in his breeches and together they take revenge on a cruel marquise. We have found only four copies in public collections National Library of France British Library Library of Château d'Oron Switzerland and National Library of Hungary. We curiously did not find this work in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France nor in French catalogues. Contemporary full flamed and glazed sheep binding. Smooth spine richly decorated with two grotesque-style compartments and two other compartments with special tools roulettes. Red morocco title label and brown morocco volume labels. Upper joint of volume 1 cracked. Headcap of volume 1 worn and lacks to headcap of volume 2. Corners bumped. Year by year the work establishes the list and history rather objectively commented of important facts in ecclesiastical history in the 18th century and this throughout the world. The revolutionary period is particularly interesting. The whole is very rich and diverse containing missions in China forbidden books as well as theological quarrels. Chez Adrien Le Clere unknown

Hon. Chas. R. Crisp Candidate for UNITED STATES SENATE
Americus Georgia: Printed By Gammage Print Shop 1932. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. VG This is a political handout for Charles R. Crisp who unsucessfully ran for the Senate in 1932. Crisp was a U.S. Representative in the Fifty-fourth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his father from December 1896 to March of 1895. He then went on to practicing law in Americus Georgia and returned to the House of Representives in the Sixty-second Congress as Parliamentarian of the Democratic National Convention in 1912. He was elected to Congress ten times from March 1913 to October 1932. This two page tract is in excellent condition with a couple of spots of foxing on front a couple of spots on the back a cryptic "876" printed at the bottom of the back cover and a wrinkle across the top of tract. 1890. Fine. s. d. Circa 1890 37 x 49 cm une feuille Épinal print color lithograph large format printed on heavy paper. Two tears to right margin affecting the print slight lack to left margin corners folded. These plates are cardboard constructions or models on which a pattern was printed. This pattern must be cut out then assembled to construct various objects or life scenes. Épinal imagery published several series of cut-out models including the ""Grandes Constructions"" in 39 x 49 cm format the ""Moyennes Constructions"" and the ""Petites Constructions"". From 1880 to 1908 constructions were published featuring architecture costumes boats and various vehicles. During this same period paper theaters or ""théâtre chez soi"" also enjoyed great success. This type of toy developed and lasted until the Second World War. Once sold by peddlers Épinal prints owe their name to Jean-Charles Pellerin who was the first printer to publish this type of image in series and who lived in the town of Épinal Vosges. The subjects are very varied but generally revolve around religion history French Revolution battles military uniforms or drawn from popular novels. Épinal imagery has its origins in imagery a popular art form born in the 15th century intended primarily for the illiterate rural public. Originally the image is engraved on a wooden plate and printing is carried out using a hand press. It is then colored using stencils. In the 19th century lead castings were made from the engraved wood blocks: stereotypes which allowed production to be increased. In 1820 lithography was adopted which brought about a radical change in style with finer drawings. In 1900 coloring was still done by stencil using a machine that could color 300 images per hour the Aquatype. unknown

Indenture binding Wm. Dorman to Joseph Lee apprenticeship to saddler
1801. Very Good. 1 handwritten document folded. On 29 June 1801 William Dorman son of Jesse Dorman of Gloucester Co. N.J. was apprenticed to Joseph Lee saddler of Salem Co. N.J. until Nov. 1 1806 when Dorman would reach the age of 21. The requirements of both the master Joseph Lee and the new apprentice William Dorman are explained. Dorman had to keep his master's secrets and could not play cards or dice "frequent taverns or ale houses" or marry. Lee had to teach Dorman "in the art and occupation" of saddlery and give him 3 months of "Day Schooling at an English School" as well as feed house and clothe him. Signed by William Darmon Jesse Darmon and Joseph Lee; witnessed by Mark Winter and Jacob Stretch. In Very Good Condition: one horizontal and two vertical folds; partially separated along the folds without loss of text; a clear legible hand. unknown
