Bound in dark brownish cloth with gilt spine titles and false bands which remain fairly bright. Both volumes are solid square tight and generally clean with only some rather minor wear spots and soiling.There is some wear at the corners and along the spine's head and tail. Volume I has some tiny bug eaten holes along the back joint and volume ii has a few also the bugs having departed; both volumes remain to be apealing to the eye. Internally in both volumes the text is complete clean and unmarked; although the title pages of both are moderately soiled and stained title pages are of a different type paper than the rest of the text. Inner back hinge of volume two has been neatly reglued. This hefty two volume set is still readable useable and displayable. Illustrated through-out with many drawings and engravings. Sub-titled " A History Critical and Biographical of British Authors from the Earliest to the Present Times". This is a nice anthology set comprised of some of Great Britain's most beloved author's and poet's works along with biographical sketches. Edition; None Stated. Black Coth w/gilt Lettering.
