The navy blue full cloth binding embossed in gilt with a 2 masted frigate wreathed in waves front center and bright-as-new spine gilt lettering; is in "As New" condition; exceptionally clean solid/tight square crisp and unmarked except for a small 15 cent price stamped on the last endpaper.The top of the text block is publisher-stained light blue with a deckled page fore-edge.The DJ does have a few small chips and small closed tears along the top edges and corners particularly at the spine's head and tail.There are two closed tears on the back top edge.There is also a closed tear/bump on the front top edge 1.5" from the right corner.There is also a small stain in the margin of the back panel near the left corner.Overall this dust wrapper remains bright and pleasing to the eyes. A b&w photograph of the author is on the wrapper's back along with an author's note.The DJ does state "Book Club Edition" although the book binding and text does not appear to be a BCE; copyright page clearly states "First Edition: Published June 1946" with no additional printings or editions indicated.
