Format ca. 30 x 20 cm. Vorhanden ist der gesamte 10. Jahrgang 1909 mit 1040 Seiten und 26 phot. Tafeln. Halbleinenband der Zeit mit Rückentitel. *Vgl. PMM 401; Norman 1514. - Einer der ersten Drucke (1. Februar 1909) dieser bedeutenden Schrift, in welcher Minkowski das vierdimensionale Raum-Zeit-Kontinuum einführte. Sie bildete die Grundlage für die Erweiterung der Relativitätstheorie Einsteins 1916 zur "Allgemeinen Relativitätstheorie". Minkowskis "Raum und Zeit" wurde im September 1908 als Vortrag auf der 80 Naturforscherversammlung in Köln mündlich gehalten und ist hier in der Physikalischen Zeitschrift am 1. Februar 1909 erstmals im Druck erschienen. Der Aufsatz erschien wenig später (aber im gleichen Jahr) auch noch in Band 18 der Deutschen Mathematiker-Vereinigung und ferner in dem Jahresband der Gesellschaft Dt. Naturforscher und Ärzte sowie Ende 1909 als Einzelausgabe. - In dem hier vorhandenen Band der Physikalische Zeitschrift 1909 sind außerdem noch 2 Erstdrucke von Albert Einstein enthalten: 1. "Zum gegenwärtigen Stand des Strahlungsproblems". (Nr. 6, 1909, S. 185-193 sowie S. 323 "Zur Aufklärung"). - 2. The book was published in an effort to help the general public become more familiar with the science of astronomy.
