In-8° (cm. 24), pp. 10 (da p. 225 a p.234). Brossura pprovvisoria brutta e gualcita, buono l'interno. MIE, fisico, nel 1908 diede una soluzione completa e matematicamente rigorosa al problema dello scattering elettromagnetico su una superficie curva (sfera o cilindro); tale soluzione prese il nome di scattering Mie ed ebbe notevoli ripercussioni sull'ottica degli anni successivi (permise, tra le altre cose, la scoperta dell'effetto Tyndall). Fin dal 1921 contribuì allo studio enisteiniano del campo gravitazionale e della relatività. Esemplare da studio, brutto ma rilevante.
