Metamorfosi. La svolta ontologica in antropologia
Da circa vent’anni, un vento di novità percorre l’antropologia. Alcuni autori propongono di adottare un atteggiamento che chiamano «ontologico»: la polvere 'aché' non «rappresenta» il potere, dicono, ma «è» potere. Il lavoro dell’antropologo non sarebbe più quello di interpretare ciò che incontra sul campo alla luce delle categorie scientifiche occidentali (società, scambio economico, potere), ma di entrare nei mondi alieni che gli si aprono. Non più «noi» che interpretiamo «loro», ma loro che ci trasformano. E c’è chi pensa che la stessa parola «cultura», ormai superata, debba essere sostituita da mondi plurali e da ontologie multiple, reali quanto la «nostra» ontologia, nella quale, però, la natura è una e identica per tutte le differenti culture. Prendere sul serio le culture indigene vuol dire cioè assumerle come mondi, con le loro leggi e le loro realtà. Curatori: Roberto Brigati, Valentina Gamberi.

Società moderna e pensiero primitivo
Tra le mura del Sangallo si viene continuamente svolgendo una intensa e libera attività culturale. Si tratta di un percorso molto vario, che proprio perché radicalmente libero, non sopporta eccessive costrizioni e, dunque, neppure i confini disciplinari tipici del sapere accademico. Questi dibattiti intendono difendere la flessibilità del loro procedere fra aspetti sociologici, storici, economici, antropologici, come nel caso presente, giuridici, filosofici più interessati ai problemi che agli arbitrari steccati del sapere. Tanta libertà spirituale, tuttavia, non ci vela il fatto che spesso molte interessanti discussioni, pur sedimentandosi profondamente negli animi dei protagonisti, finiscono per restare inaccessibili a un poco più vasto pubblico, quale è quello degli interessati alle diverse problematiche culturali. Si è ritenuto, perciò, che, là ove possibile, si rendesse disponibile uno strumento agile che potesse servire a soddisfare una apprezzabile esigenza di condivisione dei risultati delle riflessioni svolte dagli studiosi spesso insigni che sono stati di volta in volta i protagonisti dei nostri interni dibattiti. "The comparative mythology today: Müller, Frazer, Dumézil. Perspectives from the past to the future" (giovedì 12 ottobre 2017, Academia Belgica di Roma) è stato il primo convegno del comitato scientifico della collana di saggi "Speaking souls. Animæ loquentes" pubblicata dalla casa editrice Agorà & Co. e diretta da Marcello De Martino: esso si è prefisso come scopo precipuo quello di riproporre l’attualità dell’interconnessione tra linguistica, antropologia e storia delle religioni. I contributi dei partecipanti evidenziano tutti una ricerca di sistemi e di strutture all’interno dei complessi mitologici che si oppone alla vague attuale degli studi umanistici, scevri spesso da ogni prospettiva storico-comparativa: proseguendo nel solco tracciato da Friedrich Max Müller, James George Frazer e Georges Dumézil, infine il convegno è stato un dialogo tra convenuti, che messi intorno a un tavolo come fossero Pritani accanto al fuoco di Hestia hanno discusso di temi vitali per le indagini di antichistica, gettando così nuova luce sulle origini – anche indoeuropee – del mondo religioso classico. The head of the spine is heavily bumped with some lighter bumping to the corners and tail of the spine. 264 & 3 pages with color pictorial endpapers and profuse illustrations throughout including several tipped-in black & white plates and several full-page color plates. The rear hinge is starting at the top and a few page corners are very slightly creased. Internally very good. <p>A substantial work printed in the USSR with Russian text in Cyrillic script on the origins of theatre from an anthropological perspective. The illustrations include depictions of primitive tribal and native rituals. Most of the plates depict early masks from different regions of the world.
