From the library of the artist and critic William Rothenstein with his wood-engraved bookplate on the front paste-down. The pencil scoring in the text is presumably his. Rothenstein was to make several portraits of de la Mare. Gwendolen Murphy’s first issue first state of text Bibliography in ‘The London Mercury’ Vol.XV 1927 the bracket after ‘Walter Ramal’ on the title-page being present and the top-edges gilt.
