‎Amsterdam unpublished 1966. 12 original glossy photo prints ca. 18 x 24 cm one smaller 16.0 x 10.5 cm with copyright stamp "Group 45" on versos. = A suite of press photos by the Amsterdam photographer journalist and artist Cor Jaring 1936-2013. Probably all taken on 10 March 1966 the day of the controversial wedding of the later queen of the Netherlands Beatrix and the German diplomat Claus von Amsberg. The wedding was controversial because Von Amsberg was German and during WWII member of the Hitler Jugend. The photos show demonstrators provos and police officers making arrests on and near the Royal Palace at Dam Square. One photo shows the tour of the Gouden Koets golden coach with the princess and prince heavily guarded by the police and military. Jaring is perhaps most famous for his photos of John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their "Bed-In" at the Amsterdam Hilton in 1969. Some minor signs of handling but no other blemishes and in general in a very good condition. unknown‎

‎Buenos Aires: n.p. 1940. First edition. Patterned maroon leather album two holes with string ties and tassels gilt titles and illustrations on front board. A very good copy with wear to spine ends and corners of boards writing on front pastedown and on a few leaves edgeworn first leaf. Unpaged 20 leaves. Illus. with 19 mounted silver-gelatin photographs with spider-web tissue guards 29 b/w photo-reproductions on 7 plates and two small portraits. Obl. 4to. 12 x 8.5 inches. Over forty original signatures and inscriptions some a paragraph long on the front pastedown and verso of first leaf plus one or two later on all presumably members of the regiment. Includes a short history of the Regiment. A group photo of 28 officers has a separate bound-in key identifying them by name and rank. Created on May 29 1810 and immediately sent as part of the relief expedition to the interior provinces Regimiento no. 3 de Infanteria "General Belgrano" is the most prestigious brigade in the Argentinean army. This 1940 album produced on the 140th anniversary of the regiment was a crucial time for the military in Argentina with the country officially neutral but much influenced by the German military. The Regiment was led by General Ambrosio Vago first photograph a supporter of the Allies who had refused to take part in the coup of 1930 though at this time was urging a new coup along with a number of Axis-leaning officers to oust President Ramón Castillo with the goal of holding non-fraudulent elections. But it would be Peron who would lead the coup in 1943 with Vago though ostensibly a Peronist not participating and exiled to Bahia Blanca. A rare photographic record of the Argentinean military before Peron's ascendancy. We could locate no copies of this nor any similar items in OCLC or other Latin American or European library databases. n.p. hardcover‎

Large oblong folio 30x41.50cm.; commemorative postbound photo album of brown blind-embossed cloth; 29 grey card leaves to which are mounted 30 original photographs measuring ca.15x24cm or the inverse to 30x24cm all captioned in neat manuscript Russian though the opening statement on front pastedown in manuscript Lithuanian of the same hand. Corners a bit bumped pastedown endpapers starting to peel from boards light occasional soil to leaves leaves cockled from exposure to glue else Very Good the photographs all in near fine condition. <br /> <br /> Collection of neatly compiled but rather amateurish photographs taken during the 50th anniversary of the Russian Revolution celebration in the Lithuanian spa town of Druskininkai featuring members of both the military the Young Leninists Komsomol and the Pioneers. The earliest photos show the visit of Anna Vasil'evna mother of the fallen hero Petr Naboichenko at the company with which he served her face shown weeping before an oversized portrait of her son. Vasil'evna reappears in one more photograph towards the end of the album sitting in a classroom surrounded by listeners as she wipes her eyes with a handkerchief.<br /> <br /> The photos also depict the march to the burial place of Naboichenko at which is held a rally of soldiers and members of the Pioneers in memory of those who fell during the liberation of Druskininkai. Other photos show members of the party in an empty field "the site of a fierce battle" our translation. The final photographs promote the importance of the press as a man in military uniform reads from the day's newspaper to a small cluster of soldiers some of them looking as young as fourteen. The final photo taken at the evening's banquet show a four-man military band on maracas bass accordion and guitar the caption describing them as the prizewinners of a televised competition. ‎Two photographs from the funeral of Reginald Player Fuller 1905-1933 a well-known South Australian jockey killed in a steeplechase accident‎

‎Two vintage sepia-toned gelatin silver photographs image size 162 × 213 mm on original stiff card mounts external dimensions approximately 250 × 305 mm. The photographs and mounts are in uniformly excellent condition. The photographer is not identified but written in ballpoint pen on the verso of each mount is '1933 Probably funeral of Reg Player Fuller'. Reg Fuller one of 'the State's best riders over hurdles and fences' died as a result of injuries received when his horse 'fell with him in the steeplechase at Victoria Park' on Saturday 22 April 1933. Short articles on his death appeared in a number of Australian newspapers including the 'Sydney Morning Herald'; the most informative one is in the Adelaide 'Chronicle' on Thursday 4 May 1933. In part it states that Fuller 'had been riding at registered race meetings for about 12 years and during that time he had comparatively few falls in jumping races a tribute to his ability. Before the accident at Victoria Park he had broken his collarbone twice and had had several fractured ribs. It was a remarkable record as Fuller always a fearless horseman did not hesitate to ride horses new to jumping. He rode in hurdle races for three years before he had his first fall. A. d'Abbadie' pages with a small illustration in the first item plus in the second item a leaf of diagrams a very large folding plan with four inset illustrations and a frontispiece comprising an original albumen paper photograph 134 × 90 mm of the device laid down on a printed mount. Original printed blue wrappers slightly creased with the head of the spine a little bumped throughout; trifling insect damage to some top and bottom corner tips and a few creased corners at the rear; an excellent uncut copy with d'Abbadie's 'Rapport' entirely unopened. On the title page the printed address of Chevallier 'impasse de Saxe' has been ruled out and replaced in manuscript with the address printed on the front cover 41 rue Mazarine. Printed on the inside front wrapper is a 'Note de l'Inventeur'; on the outside rear wrapper there is a list of three works from the same publisher. Auguste Chevallier's ingenious photographic plane-table produced a disc-shaped horizontal panorama by means of a rotating lens. Comparing images taken at different vantage points allowed the surveyor accurately to calculate distances and heights as with a regular plane table but with less room for human error in taking observations.
