Dann bis 5h [...]". - Thea Poras war zu jener Zeit an den Stadttheatern von Innsbruck und Graz engagiert und zog nach ihrer Hochzeit mit einem Schweizer 1940 nach Bern, wo sie u. a. als Büroangestellte und bei Universum Press sowie ab 1952 als Hilfskorrespondentin bei United Press tätig war. Seit Ende der 1940er Jahre wirkte sie dann wieder als Schauspielerin am Theater der Untern Stadt in Bern und stieß 1952 zum neu gegründeten Atelier-Theater Bern, wo sie bis 1972 rund sechzig Rollen verkörperte.‎

‎Zusammen 87 SS. Meist 8vo. Die Münchner Schriftstellerin Frieda Port (1854-1926) war zuerst Erzieherin in Nürnberg. Später lebte die u.a. mit Paul Heyse befreundete Übersetzerin und Lyrikerin in München. Ihr Nachlaß befindet sich in der StB München (vgl. Kosch XII, 189; Pataky II, 149 u. DBA, Fiche I 973,97). - "[...] Daß Sie sich bald wieder fotographieren lassen (taten Sie's vielleicht schon?) las ich gleich Heyse, der gerade zu mir kam, als ich Ihren Brief erhalten hatte, vor und wir billigten beide Ihren Entschluß sehr und freuen und auf die neuen Bilder [...]. Ich nahm mir vor, Ihnen recht ausführlich von Heyses Geburtstag zu berichten, da ich weiß, wie sehr Sie diese lieben Menschen verehren und möglichst viel von Ihnen hören wollen! Ihre Grüße machten ihnen viel Freude, und als wir Abends kamen, las Heyse Max Kalbecks Gedicht vor [...]. Am Abend [las Heyse] zuerst einen Einakter dem alle großen Beifall spendeten [...]" (München, 19. Roux, probably the surgeon Philibert Joseph Roux, asking him to perform an examination of his neighbour and to treat her if necessary: "Veuillez bien mon cher Roux revoir avec votre discernement ordinaire la Madame Marchais [?] ma voisine et la donner quelques conseils oubien [!] s'il le fallait la retablir dans votre hospice pour la traiter. Tout cela sera digne de vous [...]". - At the time, Roux was president of the surgical section of the Académie royale de médecine. The academy had been co-founded by Portal in 1820 who was its honorary president until his death. After studying medicine in Montpellier, Antoine Portal moved to Paris to serve as private medical tutor to the Dauphin, the later King Louis XVI. In 1769 he was named professor of anatomy at the Collège de France and in 1778 was appointed to the prestigious position of professor of anatomy at the Jardin du Roi. During the reigns of Louis XVIII and Charles X, Portal served as first Physician to the King. - Minimal browning. ‎1 S. Qu.-8vo. Sendet "Nachträgliche Geburtstagsgrüße" an einen namentlich nicht genannten Adressaten. Die Unterschrift auf der Bildseite. - Die in Magdeburg geborene Schauspielerin, Tochter des um 1860 geborenen Sängers, Regisseurs und Schauspielers Franz Porten, stand bereits sechzehnjährig in Kinderrollen auf der Bühne, trat 1906 in ihrem ersten Film ("Apachentanz" von Otto Messter) auf und war bis 1958 in über 80 Filmen zu sehen. Noch vor Asta Nielsen und Pola Negri als erster deutscher Filmstar in den Anfangstagen der Cinematographie in Deutschland gefeiert, war sie zeitweise in 8-10 Filmen pro Jahr auf der Leinwand zu sehen, heiratete 1921 in zweiter Ehe den Arzt Wilhelm von Kaufmann-Asser, der die Leitung der Henny Porten Film-Produktion GmbH übernahm, und gab 1930 in G. W. Pabsts "Skandal um Eva" ihr Tonfilmdebüt. Nachdem die Firma mit Carl Froehlichs "Königin von Preußen" (1931) in Konkurs gegangen war, erfuhr ihre Karriere zwar kurzzeitig einen Einbruch, doch war sie zwei Jahre später mit Hans Steinhoffs Tonfilm-Remake ihres 1924 von Carl Froehlich gedrehten Erfolgsfilms 'Mutter und Kind' wieder erfolgreich. Als Inbegriff der blonden deutschen Frau und Mutter prädestiniert, zu einer Filmgröße der nationalsozialistischen Zeit zu avancieren, weigerte sie sich dann beharrlich, sich von ihrem jüdischen Mann zu trennen und erhielt längere Zeit keine Angebote. Erst 1943 erhielt sie in Carl Froehlichs Film "Familie Buchholz / Neigungsehe" neben Elisabeth Flickenschildt und Gustav Fröhlich wieder eine Hauptrolle. 1947 versuchte sie sich wieder als Bühnenschauspielerin, konnte jedoch, zumal ihr Typ im Film nicht mehr gefragt war, ungeachtet einiger weniger größerer Rollen nicht mehr an ihre alte Karriere anknüpfen.‎

Porto-Riche dankt für Belins diesbezügliche Unterstützung und Förderung und schließt mit der Mitteilung, leider noch keine neuen Informationen erhalten zu haben: "Ne soyez pas trop étonné, si j'ai laissé votre bonne lettres sans réponse. Le docteur […] vous dira combien j'ai pris des actions pour les démarches que je fais en faveur de l'officier en question, combien la jeune femme qui adore cet officier a besoin de mon temps et des mes secours incessants, et combien elle et moi nous sommes alarmés par les envois […]. Used; Like New/Used; Like New. 3 volumes. 12mo crushed brown morocco with gilt-lettered spine by Rivière & Son edges rubbed some bowing to boards; bookplates of Frances Amelia Adams front hinge of first volume cracked with front free endpaper detached moderate foxing and offsetting scattered throughout. An extraordinary set extra-illustrated with 5 autographs and over 150 18th and 19th-century engravings bound in with many inlaid to size. Most illustrations are cut down to 12mo some with slight losses to the images; some are flush mounted to an inset window; some are larger formats folded down. Engravings are generally in very good to fine condition many with toning to the edges some with light foxing and some with light plate marks.<br style="">A remarkable collection and veritable encyclopedia of portraiture of the period assembled with great care whereby at nearly every mention of a name within the printed Busby text whether in passing or as the object of more extended focus the collector Frances Amelia Adams has found and inserted a relevant portrait or in a few cases an original document of that person.  <br style="">Thomas Busby himself a composer published several notable works on music including A Grammar of Music and A General History of Music. The present work is charmingly gossipy informative and highly entertaining and yields all manner of insights into musical life through history. Approximately a thousand anecdotes are assembled across the three volumes as a delightful potpourri.
