Nathaniel Macon 1757-1837 was born near Warrenton North Carolina and represented North Carolina in both houses of Congress. He served briefly in the American Revolution. He was a defender of slavery and voted against the Missouri Compromise in 1820. In 1835 he served as President of the convention to revise the Constitution of North Carolina.
