La forza primaria che muove le sue parole a cercare la poesia delle circostanze, delle occasioni, degli incontri con gli altri, e con se stesso, è una franca, stupita apertura al vivente. Si tratta di una benzina di percezione e di pensiero. Nulla vela del tutto questo stupore, nessuna ferita o limite. La parola e i versi si protendono in tale tensione dello stupore. Molte poesie della raccolta sono la registrazione nella memoria di un evento di cui si indaga la portata di luce e di forza. Ed eccoci all'oggetto più profondo e autentico di questo libro: ho messo fra apici i tre destinatari degli amori del poeta, poiché, al di là dell'identificabilità delle figure e dei luoghi di cui si parla in questi versi [...], mi sembra che questa poesia trovi la sua maggior forza quanto più le "occasioni" reali della vita attivano funzioni - diciamo così - universali.
