This memoir contains both autobiographical poetry and reconstructed diary entries. Ex-library with typical treatments many blacked out. There is discoloration to the inside front cover where a pocket was once glued. The spine has been reinforced with clear tape. There is an abrasion on the back cover where a barcode was removed. 2. The Poetry of Sonia Schreiber Weitz A teaching companion to the book Facing History and Ourselves Holocaust and Human Behavior. Private Press; 1985 second printing 8vo size stapled wraps with illustration on front cover and author photograph on back cover. 38 bright white pages. The illustration on the front covers includes the names of the five concentration camps where the author was imprisoned. "Each poems is preceded with a brief introduction." There is also a two-page author biography. Some of the poems in this volume also appear in the prior volume. Some light wear and rubbing to covers; mark on front cover from price sticker and sticker remnants on back cover. Sonia Schreiber was born in Krakow Poland. She survived five Nazi concentration camps including Mauthausen from where she was liberated. She and her sister were the only survivors in their family. More than 80 other family members perished in the Holocaust. After years a Displaced Persons camp following her liberation from Mauthasen Schreiber and her sister emigrated to the United States where she married Mark Weitz and raised a family. Sonia Weitz was the co-founder of the Holocaust Center Boston North and shared her story with more than one thousand audiences. She died in 2010. The title "I Promised I Would Tell" comes from the last words her mother said to her "Remember to tell the world."
