For that reason public libraries and school libraries will find the series most useful. Rex Frost was born in the heart of the British Commonwealth. Between studies in London and Cambridge he spent considerable time travelling the Continent of Europe. After graduation he worked in a London bank as a junior at $1.25 a week. Came to Canada just in time to turn back and serve with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in the first world war. His voice was first heard on the Canadian airways over a Toronto station in 1927. Since that time he has become one of Ontario's best known news analysts and commentators on Canadian and foreign affairs. Rex Frost made fifteen crossings of the Atlantic during the period between the two wars. He has travelled extensively from coast to coast in Canada and the United States securing information for radio broadcast. He has contributed articles to Saturday Night and numerous other Canadian publications. His hobby is photography. Weiters mit dem Ersuchen, die beigelegten (hier jedoch nicht vorhandenen) Abschriften von Kritiken zu veröffentlichen. - In einem an den Vizebürgermeister Heinrich Hierhammer gerichteten und von diesem vermutlich an H. A. Schwer weitergeleiteten Schreiben begründet der Schauspieler die Unmöglichkeit an einer Veranstaltung teilzunehmen: “Ihre so ehrenvolle Aufforderung versetzt mich nichtsdestoweniger in tiefe Betrübnis; sie fordert von einem deutschen Schauspieler, und berechtigt, einen Beitrag zur Erhaltung seines Volksthums, aber sie trifft einen Menschen mit leerem Beutel! ich möchte so gerne - aber ach - ich habe nichts, [...] verfüge [...] nähmlich [!] nicht über das nothwendige Repertoire’, umsoweniger da es sich um ein Fest mit Vorträgen handelt und ich immer nur die Bühne aber eigentlich nie die Tribüne betreten habe [...]” (Br. v. 27. An den Komponisten und Kapellmeister Adolf Müller junior (1839-1901) in Wien: "Für Ihre grosse Liebenswürdigkeit danke ich hiermit auf das Allerbeste und Herzlichste! Die Partitur wird demnächst abgeholt werden. Herr Lerch hat die Texte ebenfalls für sehr gut befunden und ich habe ihm dieselben, nachdem er mich versicherte mit Ihnen im Reinen zu sein, überlassen. Ich freue mich schon unendlich darauf neben Ihrem Namen auch den meinen sehen zu können […]". - Fröden kam u.a. über Innsbruck, Troppau und Graz ans Theater an der Wien und ans Berliner Lindentheater. Von 1893-97 spielte er am Raimundtheater in Wien und seit 1898 am dortigen Kaiser-Jubiläums-Theater. Er trat in den Stücken Karl Costas auf und "gehörte zu den populärsten Wiener Komikern". Nach seinem Abschied von der Bühne gründete er eine Plakatierungsfirma. Vgl. Czeike II, 423 (Frödenplatz; dort mit Geb. Datum 1857).

<p>This is a very functional early copy of an exceedingly effective means of imparting knowledge of a difficult language published in that country and long ago. Couvreur was a Jesuit missionary and lived many years in China absorbing much of the culture and spreading it somewhat accurately and fairly it seems.</p><p>Photos on request.</p> Roman Catholic Mission Press paperback
