‎This actor co-starred with Judy Garland in "Meet Me in St. Louis" 1944 and appears in other films of the '40s through the '60s such as "Our Town" 1940 "Cass Timberlane" 1947 "Raintree County" 1957 and "Johnny Reno" 1966. A large and bold large signature in blue ink on a heavy stock 4 3/4" X 3" card n.p. n.y. ca. 1944. Very good. Small tape stain at each edge not affecting signature. "Naval Aid Auxiliary" logo in gilt blue and red appears at top center with red stripe along top edge and blue stripe along bottom edge. This organization raised funds for its war-time activities by enlisting many film stars to sign these decorative cards which were then made available for purchase to the public. unknown‎

‎1 S. Qu.-8vo. "Da Ihr Wunsch so nett u. billig, send ich Ihnen dieses willig | Kon. Dreher". - Konrad Dreher kam in Augsburg zur Bühne und bildete sich bei Heinrich Jantsch in Wiesbaden weiter. "Seine Schauspiellaufbahn führte ihn über Wildbad, Köln und Frankfurt/Main 1881 an das Münchner Gärtnerplatztheater, an das er nach einem Engagement am Ringtheater Wien zurückkehrte und wo er als Darsteller komischer Rollen berühmt wurde. 1891 gründete er in Schliersee ein Bauerntheater, mit dem er in den folgenden Jahren u. a. in Rußland und den USA gastierte" (DBE). Dreher war u. a. mit Ludwig Thoma, Ludwig Ganghofer, Franz von Defregger und Franz Lenbach befreundet. Seit 1892 Münchner Hofschauspieler, trat er seit 1894 in jährlichen Privatveranstaltungen u. a. vor Bismarck und Wilhelm II. auf. "Seine humoristischen Darstellungen gelten als Fortsetzung der Tradition des bayerischen Komödienspiels" (DBE). - Etwas berieben und angeschmutzt und alt auf Trägerkarton montiert.‎

No Publisher Information At Bottom But Some Explanatory Text Printed In Reversed Lettering Near Bottom Of Image. Ierre Drevet The Elder 1663-1738 Was Born At Loire In The Lyonnais The Son Of Estienne Drevet And Began His Studies With Germain Audran In Lyons Continuing Them With G�rard Audran In Paris. His Progress Was Rapid And In 1696 He Was Made Court Engraver. In 1707 He Was Admitted To Membership In The Acad�mie Des Beaux-Arts His Reception Picture Being An Engraving Of Robert De Cotte. Hyacinthe Rigaud's Portraits Were In High Favour At The End Of The Seventeenth Century And Drevet Was The First To Encounter The Difficulties Of Translating Into Black And White The Natural Appearance Of Texture And Materials In The Latter's Oil Paintings. Always Engraving After Oil Paintings Drevet Was At Times Uneven But This Was Arguably Because The Originals Were Uneven. His Engravings Were Mainly The Portraits Of Distinguished People. Among His Many Plates Are A Portrait Of Jean-Baptiste Colbert 1700; Portraits Of Louis Xiv And Louis Xv Both After Rigaud; A Crucifixion After Coypel And A Portrait Of Charles Ii Of England.
