Spine is cocked slanted slightly is clear with a bit of shelf soil has a few small wrinkles caused when book was bound triangular piece 1/4 inch at top of spine edge is loose because of tear where it meets front cover but paper is in place. Back cover has one small bent corner restored flat a bit of edge wear a bit of age darkening near the spine has a few visible creases top edge near spine is slightly wavy and there is a 1/4 inch tear at top spine side near the bottom open corner there are several old creases which are visible and made bumps in the paper now restored flat but visible. Page edges slightly sunned. Inside of book is tight clean clear flat no rips no holes no stains. Page 31 has three small initials at top in ink. Small bit of age darkening inside covers at binding and on a few pages. Owner’s name small in ink on title page. Book smells fine like nice paper. Volume 2 Number 2. Illustrations throughout. Page 59 has 12 small words written in fountain ink which can be seen a bit on page 60. Page 62 has one word in fountain ink which can be seen a bit on page 61. Small bit of age darkening inside covers at binding and on a few pages. Owner’s name small in ink on title page. Book smells fine like nice paper. Volume 1 Number 5. Illustrations throughout. Inside of book is tight clear but all pages are wavy and some have a few small grey marks up to page 135 after which there are many grey marks not pencil. Almost negligible age darkening on edges of some pages. Inside covers are age darkened and more so at spine and edges front inside cover has grey marks in places and back inside cover has a lot of grey marks. Book is a bit over-opened at page 159 and at title page and at title page the paper near spine has 6 small rips around 1/8 inch each. No dog ears that I saw. Spine is not cocked. A wonderful book in wonderful condition. Coated stock. Lots of colour & black/white photos. Book is oversize and heavy. Since book is oversize most photos are very large full page. Photos on every page. If you love movie stars from back then you must have this book. Done with typical Time-Life quality. Dust jacket has lots of colour photos and cover photos. . Book is over-opened at page 121 and the spine can be seen in a gap that at the top is 3/16 and at the bottom is 1/4 inch wide. A few old dog ears restored flat long ago. Spine has black rectangle for the gilt lettering and all is clean and startlingly crisp. Dust jacket is NOT PRICE CLIPPED has minor creases two small tears and a few minor chips also a few minor scratches and some black colour is rubbed off from adjacent book. Dust jacket spine is slightly age darkened and inside the dust jacket the spine area is slightly darkened from touching the black box on the cloth spine. Sewn binding. Book page edges have a few small light brown dots. Book inside is clean and tight smells great. An Autobiography. Page edges red and slightly sunned. Inner end papers are white with some tanning near spine and edges. Inside of book is tight clean clear bright flat. Almost negligible age darkening on edges of some pages. Inside covers are age darkened at spine and edges. No dog ears that I saw with careful examination.
