Il volume traccia la storia di Napoli, dalla città greco-romana alla metropoli dell’età dei lumi. Volume Secondo: Tavole: contiene la riproduzione di 35 piante antiche della città in bianco e nero (da fine ‘400 al 1790), anche più volte ripiegate, nonche' numerose tavole di dettaglio (vedute); una, applicata alla carta ed a colori. Volume Terzo: Pianta Carafa: con un doppio fascicolo di testo di pp. complessive 23, (1). Viene qui presentata la ristampa anastatica dei 35 fogli (sciolti e ripiegati) che formano la famosa mappa topografica della città di Napoli, di Giovanni Carafa, duca di Noja (m. 2,376 x 5,016). Minima brunitura alla custodia; peraltro, volumi in ottimo stato (good copy). .
