‎20000 Leagues Under the Sea Original screenplay for the 1954 film‎

‎Burbank CA: Walt Disney Productions 1954. Final Shooting Script for the 1954 film with blue yellow and green revisions throughout.

Based on the 1870 novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" by Jules Verne. Walt Disney's "20000 Leagues Under the Sea" was one of the most expensive and ambitious productions of its time. A 200 foot submarine a 225 pound diving suit a specially built soundstage with a 90 x 165 foot tank and a giant squid which weighed two tons and required a crew of 28 to operate were just some of the monumental challenges of the production. Disney's first CinemaScope motion picture "20000 Leagues Under the Sea" was a resounding success and went on to be considered one of greatest live-action adventure movies ever made.

In 1868 off the coast of San Francisco Professor Aronnax Paul Lukas his assistant Conseil Peter Lorre and master harpooner Ned Land Kirk Douglas set sail upon a armed frigate to investigate a spate of sinkings rumored to be caused by a sea monster. After months of searching the "monster" is spotted sinking a merchant vessel and the frigate attacks only to be sunk themselves. Adrift in the ocean the three come upon a strange metal vessel and realize the "monster" is a "submerging boat." The trio are captured by Captain Nemo James Mason and taken aboard the submarine the Nautilus and journey on a voyage of adventure and discovery under the sea.

Nominated for three Academy Awards winning two for Art Direction and Special Effects.

Shot on location in California Jamaica and the Bahamas.

Blue titled wrappers with affixed Walt Disney Productions label as called for with Disney scripts from this era noted as FINAL SHOOTING SCRIPT on the front wrapper with credits for screenwriter Earl Felton. ‎Westward Ho the Wagons! Children of the Covered Wagon Original screenplay for the 1956 film Walt Disney's annotated copy‎

‎Burbank CA: Walt Disney Productions 1955. Draft script for the 1956 film here under the working title "Children of the Covered Wagon." Walt Disney's working copy with "Walt Disney" in holograph ink on upper left margin of Walt Disney Productions label on the front wrapper not in Disney's hand and annotations in red blue and graphite holograph pencil throughout all clearly in Disney's hand. The most substantive of the annotations denote sequence order and use of stock footage.

Our first reaction was to doubt such close involvement by Disney on a 1950s feature but it turns out that this film was special: it was Disney's first Western and only its second live-action CinemaScope feature following on the heels of the wildly successful "20000 Leagues Under the Sea" the year before. Too Disney's first animated CinemaScope feature "Lady and the Tramp" was released just prior to this film in the summer of 1955. All three were major debuts for Disney and Walt Disney's involvement was naturally more hands-on than usual.

Based on the 1934 novel "Children of the Covered Wagon" by Mary Jane Carr about a group of pioneers in a wagon train traveling across the West. Staring Disney stalwart Fess Parker of "Davey Crockett" fame as John "Doc" Grayson and featuring four Mouseketeers from the "Mickey Mouse Club" television series: Tommy Cole Doreen Tracey Cubby O'Brian and Karen Pendleton.

A one-hour Disneyland telecast on November 14 1956 entitled "Along the Oregon Trail" included a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of "Westward Ho the Wagons!" and on the day of the film's opening the first segment of a four-part series about Native Americans entitled "The First Americans" began on the Disneyland series.

Set in the American West shot on location at the Conejo Ranch near Thousand Oaks in California.

Red titled wrappers with affixed Walt Disney Productions label as called for with Disney scripts from this era with credits for screenwriter Tom Blackburn and production number 2093. 157 leaves with last page of text numbered 153. ‎Isadora Original photograph from the set of the 1968 film‎

‎Universal City: Universal Pictures 1968. Vintage borderless photograph of actress Vanessa Redgrave and director Karel Reisz on the set of the 1968 film. With a mimeo snipe holograph annotations and a library rubber stamp on the verso.

A high spot for Vanessa Redgrave in the 1960s a story that follows the life of the free spirited modern interpretive dancer Isadora Duncan.

From Dan Pavlides at Allmovie: Trained in classical dance Duncan shattered the traditional conformities in her art and her personal life. The film begins at the end of her life as she recalls the past while dictating her memoirs to her male secretary. Her uninhibited sexuality and insistence on personal freedom and expression shocked more conservative and narrow-minded patrons and audiences. She brought in elements of classic Greek dance during the height of the jazz age and had children in and out of wedlock. Married to sewing-machine heir Paris Singer Jason Robards and the Russian poet Sergei Essenin Ivan Tchenko her life was a rollercoaster ride of success and tragic failures. Two of her children drowned when her chauffeur left the car unattended and the vehicle plunged into a river. Duncan lived by her own rules often shunned by the very people who had so passionately embraced her pioneering efforts in dance women's liberation and free thinking. Redgrave was nominated for an Oscar for her performance.

The film's locales are international and range from California to Europe and the Soviet Union. Shot on location in various places in England Italy France and Eastern Europe.

9.25 x 7.5 inches. Near Fine. Universal Pictures unknown books‎
