Chicago: Muhammad's Temple No.2 1977. First Edition. Tabloid 38.5cm; photo-illustrated newsprint wrappers; 32pp; illus. Mild toning and dustiness to wrappers else Near Fine and unfolded without postal markings. Bilalian News was the successor publication to Elijah Muhammad's long-running Muhammad Speaks the publishing organ of the Nation of Islam. Following his death in 1974 Muhammad's son and successor Warith Dean Muhammad re-named the paper in 1975 in reference to Bilial ibn Rabah a black Ethiopian slave who was the first known African follower of the prophet Muhammad. Published from the Chicago-based Muhammad's Temple of Islam No.2 Bilalian News published a mix of local national and world events radical politics and spirituality with periodic articles on sporting and cultural events of note. The paper was eventually re-named in 1981 becoming World Muslim News and eventually given the name Muslim Journal which is still in circulation today. In our experience individual issues or significant groups are both scarce in commerce. Muhammad's Temple No.2 unknown

The pamphlet includes the UAR's vision usually and its social and economic policies, projects, Suez Canal, Al-Wady al-Gadid, industry, navigation, mining, oil and its industry, agriculture and agricultural reforms, livestock, culture and education, medicine, water, tourism, etc. Extremely rare.

In tutte le storie di Muhammad, e nello stesso Corano, si dice che il Profeta una notte fu svegliato dall'angelo Gabriele e accompagnato in un viaggio dalla Mecca a Gerusalemme e da lì nei sette cieli. Quella che presentiamo in questo volume è una versione medievale più tarda di altre, ma ha avuto e ha una straordinaria diffusione. Tutt'oggi se ne contano numerose edizioni in tutti i paesi arabi ed è una lettura molto popolare. Sui rapporti fra il viaggio di Muhammad nell'aldilà e la "Commedia" di Dante sono stati scritti molti libri. Dante potrebbe avere avuto a che fare con il "Libro della scala", tradotto in latino, ma è difficile impostare un preciso discorso di fonti. E in ogni caso interessante, per la nostra cultura fondata su Dante, vedere come lo stesso tema del viaggio oltremondano venga sviluppato nel mondo islamico. Per vedere le analogie ma anche le differenze.
